The wood and its finish

Solid oak, walnut, beech or iroko (African teak). Danish oil as standard, or stained lighter or darker to sit with your floor, worktop or furniture. Other timbers can be sourced.

The size and the shape

Linear lights from 76 cm to 2.2 m, rounds from 35 to 80 cm, ovals up to 140 × 90 cm and pool table frames up to 230 × 130 cm. Or a new shape, drawn for your room.

The drop, and how it fixes

A steel suspension you set on site: up to 1 m as standard, and up to 2 m on request for a high ceiling. It hangs level under sloping and beamed ceilings, fixes to plaster or concrete, and is wired for UK, EU or US mains, or for a boat's 24V supply.

From amber 2700K to crisp 6500K daylight, with high-CRI LEDs when true colours matter. Brighter over a worktop, softer in a bedroom.

  5. Delivered to your doorIn the UK, the EU, the United States, Canada and Australia. Packed to travel, with fixings and fitting instructions. Outside the UK, your country may charge import duty or tax on delivery.

The IVYLUX Team brings more than 25 years in technical lighting and lighting control, and more than five years at the woodworking bench. So the LED, the driver, the heat and the fixing are worked out as carefully as the wood.

What does a bespoke light cost?

It depends on the size, the wood and the control. Shop prices are a good guide: our core designs start from £218, and pool table lights made to size from £1,490. We send you a price for your exact light before anything is made.

How long does it take?

Most lights are made and delivered in 4–6 weeks. A completely new design needs a little longer for the drawings; we give you a date with the price.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

Yes. We deliver to the UK, all 27 EU countries, the United States, Canada and Australia. We have lights in homes across the UK, Europe and the USA, wired for UK, EU or US mains. Outside the UK your country may charge import duty or tax on delivery.

Can I return a bespoke light?

A light made to your own size, wood, finish or design is made for you alone, so it cannot be returned if you change your mind. Every light has a 3-year warranty against faults, and standard lights can be returned within 30 days.

Will it work with my dimmer, Alexa or smart home?

We can supply it for an on/off switch, a triac wall dimmer, a remote, Alexa and Wi-Fi, or Zigbee. Tell us your dimmer or system and we check it before we make the light.

Can you work from my sketch, photo or drawing?

Yes. A phone photo of a sketch is fine, and so are CAD drawings or a picture you like. For new shapes we send a drawing or 3D render to approve first.

Can I see the wood and finish before I order?

Yes. We can post you samples of our wood finishes. If you want the light to match your furniture, send us a small sample or offcut of it and we will match the colour and finish as closely as we can.

How long can the suspension be?

Our pendants come with a steel suspension that adjusts up to 1 metre as standard. For a high ceiling we can supply up to 2 metres on request.

Do I need an electrician?

These are hardwired lights, so we recommend a qualified electrician. Fixings for plaster ceilings come in the box; tell us if your ceiling is concrete or something else.

Can I have one in a bathroom?

Our standard lights are rated IP20. For bathrooms and damp rooms we can make an IP44 version.

Do you work with designers and businesses?

Yes. We work with interior designers, architects, kitchen companies and hospitality projects, from one piece to a small production run, with technical drawings when you need them.
